Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Reactors is a fan-made index of YouTube reaction videos. Browsing the catalog — movies, shows, reactors, episode coverage — requires no account and collects nothing beyond standard server logs (see "Server logs" below). This policy covers what happens once you create an account.

What we collect

When you create an account, we store:

  • Your email address and password (the password itself is never stored — Supabase Auth, which handles authentication, stores only a salted hash).
  • An optional username and avatar URL, if you set one.
  • Your theme preference, poster-layout preference, and notification/grid preferences.

As you use the site, an account also generates:

  • Favorites — movies, shows, reactors, or specific reaction videos you've favorited.
  • Hidden titles — movies or shows you've chosen to hide from your own browse/search/trending results.
  • Watched status — which specific reaction videos you've marked as watched.
  • Follows — reactors you follow (either entirely, or scoped to just one show/movie of theirs).
  • In-app notifications generated when a reactor or show-follow you have posts a new reaction.
  • A private RSS feed token — a random, regeneratable identifier that lets an RSS reader load your personal feed without logging in. Anyone holding this exact link can read your feed of favorited reactors' recent reactions; it does not grant access to your account, password, or any other data. You can regenerate it at any time from your account page, which immediately invalidates the old one.
  • Suggestions you submit (a reactor to add, or general feedback) and their review status.

What we don't collect

Reactors does not run third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts of any kind. We don't use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. We don't sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes — there is currently no third party we share account data with at all.

Server logs

Like virtually every website, our hosting infrastructure keeps standard technical logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp, browser user-agent) for a limited period, used only for security and debugging — diagnosing outages, spotting abuse. These logs are not linked to your account identity beyond what you were already doing while logged in.

Cookies and local storage

We use a session cookie (set by Supabase Auth) to keep you signed in, and browser local storage for interface preferences like theme and poster layout before you're logged in. Neither is used for tracking or advertising.

Email

If you create an account, we send transactional email only: signup confirmation and password-reset emails. We don't send marketing email, and we don't share your email address with anyone else.

How to see, change, or delete your data

Your favorites, hidden titles, watched status, follows, and preferences are all visible and editable directly in the product — mainly from your account and favorites pages. You can permanently delete your account at any time from the account page, which removes your profile and every row associated with it (favorites, follows, hidden titles, watched status, notifications, suggestions). This is irreversible.

Third-party services we rely on

Accounts, authentication, and the data listed above are handled by Supabase, the backend infrastructure this site runs on. We don't use any other third-party service that receives your account data. The catalog itself (movie/show/reactor information) is static data maintained by us, not a live third-party API call made on your behalf.

Children's privacy

Reactors is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a material way, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
